It is with great pride that I welcome you to our school website. I am truly honoured to serve as the new Principal of Strabane Academy.

At Strabane Academy we offer a broad and balanced curriculum designed to nurture the unique strengths and talents of each individual pupil. Beyond the classroom, our students benefit from the wide range of enriching opportunities - from sports and music to educational visits, Scripture Union, and the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme, to name just a few.

The HiVE Baby Hub and free Clothing Exchange to launch in Grass Roots Social Supermarket... 💛🐝🍯 The HiVe Baby Hub & free clothing exchange is opening in The Grass Roots Cafe in Strabane on Monday 27th October 2025 10am-12pm. This is a fantastic initiative for anyone needing help with nappies and toiletries for a small fee, and there is also a free clothing exchange for children aged 0-5. This is a partnership initiative funded by the Department for Communities, administrated by Derry City and Strabane District Council, Western Health & Social Care Trust and GP Federation. The HiVe is open to all Strabane residents, with plans to extend to surrounding areas in the future 💛🐝🍯.
We are also gratefully receiving donations of new nappies/ toiletries, and kids clothing in good clean wearable condition to help local families. Please come along and avail of this vital service, or reach out to your Health Visitor, Fanily Nurse, Social Worker or even self refer at Grass Roots in Strabane. Private browsing may also be facilitated upon request 💛🐝🍯

As part of Maths Week Ireland, a group of our KS4 and KS5 pupils who are studying Maths had the wonderful opportunity to attend an enriching talk by Dr Tom Crawford in the Guildhall, Derry.
The session explored how plastic pollution travels around the world and the fascinating mathematics behind it. Our pupils represented the school brilliantly, showing great enthusiasm and curiosity throughout the event. 🌍💡
A special mention goes to Chloe, who proudly took part in one of Dr Crawford’s live experiments! Pupils were also thrilled to discover that Dr Crawford has appeared as a presenter on Countdown — and even had the chance to get involved themselves. 🔢✨
We are so proud of our pupils for embracing every opportunity to extend their learning beyond the classroom and for demonstrating how mathematics connects to real-world issues and future careers. 👏📊

As part of the King’s Trust Think Pink fundraising, Hannah will be doing a sponsored skate during lunch in our Alexander Hall on Friday 24th! 💕
