Examination Results 2026

Congratulations to all our students and staff who  deserve a great deal of praise for all they have accomplished and I, as Principal, am immensely proud of their achievements.

A-level Results 2026

Once again this year we are proud of the accomplishments of our students and would like to congratulation them for all they have achieved, not only in their most recent results, but also throughout their time at Strabane Academy.

This year our A-level students continue to impress, and I would like to wish each and every one of them success and happiness as they embark on the next phase of their education or career.

Overall, our Year 14 students achieved a 98% pass rate across all subject areas, with 87% of grades being in the A*-C. As always, we celebrate some outstanding individual successes. Shannon McHugh achieved 3 A* grades, Jenna McGarrigle achieved 2A*’s and a B while Ciara Harpur achieved A*AB grades. Our current Head Boy, Jonathan Orr achieved 3 A grades while Josh Hampton achieved AAB grades and Dean Gallagher A*BB grades.

In Year 13, top performing students included Sam Hannan, Alex Gamble and Logan Patterson, all of whom achieved AAA grades. Maddox Cummings achieved AAB grades, while Ruairi Gillespie achieved AABB grades across his 4 chosen A-Levels.

I would also like to extend my appreciation to the school staff as the dedication and support they demonstrate to our students is pivotal to such success.

We are very proud of the rich diversity of our school community and recognise that whilst not every pupil can achieve A* or A grades, our vision remains to ensure that every student is given the opportunity to ‘Belong, Learn and Achieve’.

Our students are exceptional, inspiring, and talented young people and we couldn’t be prouder of them.

GCSE Results 2026

At Strabane Academy we celebrate the success of students with various areas of strength and whose chosen curriculum is designed to best fit their interests and abilities.   It's not just the students who receive the very highest grades that we celebrate; but rather all who have worked extremely hard and achieve grades which reflect this work ethic.

We are absolutely delighted in terms of our GCSE results with 96% of our pupils obtaining 5 or more GCSE’s at A* - C. Most impressively, 82% of Year 12 students achieved 5 A*-C grades and 100% of students following our Grammar curriculum achieved 7 or more GCSE’s including English and Maths. These reflect the strongest GCSE examination results in the school’s history.

Top performing girls included Eliza-Jane Magee with 8A*’s and 2A’s, Molly McGillian with 2A*’s and 8A’s and Kayla Russell with 1A* and 9A’s. Top performing boys included Cian Flaherty with 3A*’s, 2A’s and 4B’s, Ted Cummings with 3A*’s, 2A’s and 4B’s and Alex Gardiner with 1A*, 6A’s and 3B’s.

These results reflect the hard work of our pupils and highlight the dedication and support provided by our staff over the past two years. Within our intake we have a wide range of individual needs and ability levels and we are extremely proud of each of our young people who reflect our values and our vision to ASPIRE.
