Photos from Strabane Academy's post A busy few days of sport for the Strabane Academy teams. ⚽️🏉🏑
Kicked off by our year 8 football players, as the boys and girls travelled to Holy Cross, both teams battled valiantly in horrific conditions the girls edging a tight affair with a single goal from Dakota, with a finish reminiscent of Francis Jeffers…after good work from Tillie Marie and Jessica on the right wing our fox in the box found the back of the net. Our boys didn’t manage a goal, but sone very positive signs for the coning season.
On Saturday it was hockey time and the senior, u14 and u13 teams began their campaign with a visit from Omagh Acadeny. Despite resolute defence the two older teams came out on the wtong side of the result but the u13’s managed to put a silver lining on the days play, with a well deserved 3-0 win… Beth, Robyn and Daisy the standouts of that day.
Tuesday it was the turn of the Rugby team and they did not disappoint a home crowd with a superb display, running out 42-5 victors against a very physical and well coached Omagh High School, captain Conn led from the front and it would be wrong to single out players from such a complete team performance but mentions must go to Adam, Alfie, Sam and Jacob in the pack. With the fans favourite Harry aka Dinky setting up a brace of tries for Alfie as well as one on debut for Levi.
Tomorrow the u14 football team head off to Markethill High as the Northern Ireland cup begins….
