It is with great pride that I welcome you to our school website. I am truly honoured to serve as the new principal of Strabane Academy.

I hope that as you explore these pages, you gain a clear sense of our commitment to the holistic development of every student in our care.

At Strabane Academy we offer a broad and balanced curriculum designed to nurture the unique strengths and talents of each individual pupil. Beyond the classroom, our students benefit from the wide range of enriching opportunities - from sports and music to educational visits, Scripture Union, and the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme, to name just a few.

What's Happening

🎉 Celebrating Success at Strabane Academy! 🎉
We are so proud of our Year 14 pupils Lewis and Lauren, who took part in the QUB Pathway Opportunity Programme during the summer months.
✅ Lewis completed the MDBS Pathway
✅ Lauren completed the Psychology Pathway
Both pupils have been highly successful, each receiving:
✨ A two-grade reduction in their chosen Pathway courses at QUB
✨ A £1000 bursary to support their studies

TBUC Camp on Monday 8th September at Glenmornan GAA. The club is designed to give young people a safe, fun space to socialise with other members of the community, take part in activities, and build new skills.

On Thursday 11th September we will celebrate the achievements of our senior pupils at our annual Prize Giving.
School will finish at 12pm however no buses are available to transport home.
Prize Giving will commence in our Alexander Hall at 1pm.
We look forward to welcoming parents and guardians to an afternoon of celebrating success.

Careers Fair 2025, taking place on Saturday 27th September, 10am–1pm at New Gate Arts & Culture Centre.
This event is designed to inspire young people by showcasing the wide range of career opportunities available locally — from the arts and photography to business, sports therapy, cultural work, and more. It’s a chance for students to meet real industry professionals, ask questions, and see how they can turn their passions into careers while staying connected to their community.
Alongside professionals like a Formula One Events Manager, dance photographer, couture designer, and enterprise hub leader, we’ll also have local education providers such as North West Regional College and Ulster University, who will be sharing information about courses and pathways available right here on our doorstep.
